Now Accepting New Patients.

I offer psychotherapy and counseling services, helping people overcome life's challenges.

I am a licensed Psychologist in Davidson, North Carolina.

I am online Tuesday through Friday for therapy sessions.  I have no in person appointments at this time.

If you feel like you've reached an impasse in your life and are unable to carry the burden alone, you've come to the right place. Seeking help is the first step towards a healthier, more balanced life.

I build a personalized treatment plan with you, designed specifically for your needs, and then take you through the process at your own pace.

Best wishes.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy can greatly improve your mental well-being. Let us work together to bring balance and enjoyment back into your life.
Opening up your soul to a stranger requires a great deal of trust. My practices offer a comfortable and private online setting for you to share your feelings.
There are many different methods that I may use to deal with the problems that you hope to address. Psychotherapy is not like a medical doctor visit. Instead, it calls for a very active effort on your part. In order for therapy to be most successful, you will have to work on things we talk about both during our sessions and at home.
Psychotherapy can have benefits and risks. Since therapy often involves discussing unpleasant aspects of your life, you may experience uncomfortable feelings like sadness, guilt, anger, frustration, fear, and loneliness. On the other hand, psychotherapy has been shown to have many benefits. Therapy often leads to better relationships, solutions to specific problems, and significant reduction in feeling of distress. There are no guarantees of what you will experience.  But, your experience and progress will be discussed at each meeting.

Getting Started
The process starts by reaching out by phone or email to discuss your needs.  If we determine that I may be a good fit for you, we  schedule an appointment.  I will then email you paperwork for you to read, complete and sign. You may return the forms in PDF to me via email.  Once I have received all of the completed forms, I send you a calendar invite with your confidential Zoom link for our session. This is a confidential Zoom room.
The first session is an initial intake session that lasts for 75- 90-minutes. This is an opportunity to get to know you and see if I am a good fit for you. I gather information in all areas of your life, and give you feedback at the end of the session as to how we may work together to meet your goals. Follow-up 55-minute therapy sessions are determined at the initial intake session.

Mindfulness

I use many mindfulness and meditation practices in my work with others. The best practices for you can be determined with your therapist.
Do your negative emotions sometimes threaten to overwhelm you? You don’t have to allow depressing, negative thoughts to shape your life: the structure of your brain is constantly changing and your brain can be trained and molded to help you regulate and limit negative emotions. A carefully tailored program of mindfulness therapy can actually change its functional connectivity, replacing those negative images with positive thoughts of optimism and loving kindness.
I offer individual mindfulness training. Please contact me for more information.
